The Nasrid Palaces open for night visits on Fridays and Saturdays from 15 October, so both 30 and 31 October fall on a night visit evening.

Legends in every lane

Granada's Halloween stories are local: 37 beheaded Abencerraje knights, a soldier guarding Boabdil's treasure, and a carved hand on the Gate of Justice.

Parties across three zones Granada

Halloween party nights cluster in Ronda, the Centro and Las Gabias, mostly for ages 18 and over, with themes such as Circo de los Horrores and Hotel Transylvania.

A student city's long calendar

Pre-Halloween nights start on Friday 23 October and run to Sunday 1 November, so the university crowd stretches the celebration across more than a week.

Tips for visiting Granada during Halloween

  • Alhambra night visits run on Fridays and Saturdays only, so book 30 or 31 October. Tickets are non-refundable and your original ID is checked.
  • Arrive 30 minutes early. The walk from the main gate takes about 20 minutes, and late arrivals may be refused.
  • The Alhambra Experiences ticket pairs a Generalife daytime visit with the Nasrid Palaces night visit.
  • Accept the tapa the bar picks, and go before 9pm at weekends, when Calle Elvira and Plaza Nueva fill up.
  • Clocks go back on 25 October, so it is dark long before the 8pm night visits. Bring a layer.
  • Most parties are 18 and over. Carry photo ID, and book a return taxi from Las Gabias.
  • Confirm cover charges at Granada 10, as listings disagree. Hotel Transylvania at Mae West was listed as sold out.
  • A €5 bus card gives 9 trips at about €0.54 each, cheaper than the €1.70 night single.
